About Your Racquet Care & Maintenance March 5, 2012
If your grip is worn out this can encumber your control of the racquet therefore players should make it a point to renew worn out grip when ever there is noticeable wear.
An other factor that will encumber on your control when striking the ball is loose strings so here are some simple guidelines to help you know when it is time to restring your racquet.
1.) of course when your string breaks it time to replace them but do take the opportunity to consider better strings. Speak to your instructor, coach or fellow at the store in the tennis section for more information on the latest trends.
2.) during play listen to the sound when the ball makes contact with the strings if you do not hear a healthy ping sound then you need to restring your racquet. Dead strings produce a different and very dull sound.
3.) if your shots are and feel good and balls that normally stays in the court are now consistently long or out then it may be time to consider restringing your racquet.
A good habit would be to restring your racquet as the tennis season starts and do this every 30 days if you are an advance players, 60 days for intermediate and 90 or more beginners.
You can always see your coach for more details on this topic. Look forward to seeing you on the court!

Nice article, Richard. Another resource that has helped me a lot to understand more about strings is the TW learning center: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/LC/ ..
